The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Nairobi is currently looking for a - Cultural and Public Diplomacy (Press) Officer - (male/female) on the basis of a temporary contract (up to 6 months) starting from March 2026.

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Nairobi is currently looking for a - Cultural and Public Diplomacy (Press) Officer - (male/female) on the basis of a temporary contract (up to 6 months) starting from March 2026.

Your Tasks:

Press:
• Assisting in the planning, implementation and follow-up of cultural, press and pub-lic diplomacy events
• Supporting the Embassy’s media and public relations work
• Media monitoring, press reviews and background research (local and international media)
• Supporting the management of social media channels and creating online content
• Drafting, filming and editing social media content and official press releases
• Providing general administrative support to the Cultural and Press Section

Culture:
• Organization and implementation of Embassy events and projects, in particular in the fields of culture and press
• Support in the preparation and organization of delegation visits from Germany
• Administration and coordination of scholarship programs and alumni relations in the cultural field
• Support to the Head of Culture in the area of higher education cooperation and re-search, including coordination with the DAAD

Your Profile

• Completed university degree, preferably in communications, media, culture, politi-cal science, international relations or a related field
• Initial professional experience in press, media, communications or cultural work is advantageous
• Strong communication and organizational skills, reliability, discretion and a high sense of responsibility
• Ability to work under time pressure and flexibility, including occasional work out-side regular office hours

Language skills:
• Very good command of English and Swahili, both written and spoken
• Intermediate to good command of German (Level A2)
