Please note the important information regarding increased passport and identity card fees.

The basic fees for identity cards are increasing with immediate effect:

• for applicants over 24 years of age, from €37 to €46, and
• for applicants under 24 years of age, from €22.80 to €27.60.

The surcharge for applications abroad is increasing with immediate effect:

• for biometric passports, from €31 to €36,
• for temporary passports, travel documents as passport replacements, and EU ETDs, from €44 to €49, and
• for identity cards, from €41 to €43.

The following fees have not increased:

• Basic fee for biometric passports for applicants over 24 years of age: €70
• Basic fee for biometric passports for applicants under 24 years of age: €37.50
• Basic fee for temporary passports: €26
• Express surcharge for biometric passports: €32
• Surcharge for 48 pages: €22.00
• Surcharge for processing outside the jurisdiction (if the applicant is still registered in Germany and does not possess a deregistration certificate) of €70 for biometric passports for applicants over 24 years of age, €37.50 for applicants under 24 years of age, €26.00 for temporary passports, and €13.00 for identity cards.
